Volunteers are needed for weekly teaching sessions on July 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th from 4:30-5:45 pm and the day-of-event on July 31st from 10am-1:30 pm.  No need to volunteer for each date as even just 1 day of assistance is appreciated.  HYP events are only as successful as the volunteers we have to help make them a success!  Also, many employers allow for paid time off or approved time off for volunteer purposes in the community, so please explore this if it will help allow you time to volunteer.

What is Refresh Harrisburg?

Refresh Harrisburg is the culminating event in which 4 teams of teen summer campers from The Salvation Army sell items at refreshment stands located in downtown Harrisburg to demonstrate their knowledge of entrepreneurship and charity.

For 5 weeks prior to the event, the campers learned about starting their own business, budgeting, marketing, and creating their own business plans to put their refreshment stands in motion. Come to visit each of the refreshment stands the day of the event to see their businesses in action and see their individual marketing strategies come to life.  You know you’ll be hungry and thirsty!!
