Networking – the professional relationship building action we love, but sometimes hate doing. There is an art to building a valuable network that can help you throughout your career. With social platforms, like LinkedIn, Facebook, and even Bumble Biz, building your network has never been easier. Even with all these tools at our disposal, what does networking really mean and how do we do it?

Rubina Azizdin was asking those same questions. Through her experience in career services in high education, and now as the Director of Director of STEM UP Network at Harrisburg University, Azizdin had to master purposeful networking. During our March Professional Development workshop, Azizdin will talk about her journey in networking, what it takes to build a meaningful network, and how to build self-confidence to really shine while you network.

Rubina has over a decade of experience in counseling, teaching and community engagement. She presently serves as the Director of STEM-UP Network for Harrisburg University, which is a program that helps advance women in their fields of STEM. She is an avid advocate of diversity and all initiatives that involve empowering women. She is the founder of R.E.A.L. Women’s Alliance Networking Group. She was awarded the West Shore Chamber’s Luminary Shining Star Award, The Ella Frazier Award and Women of Excellence Award through the YWCA. She also was a recipient of the Global Torch Award through the YWCA, and was just recently named a Women of Influence and was a recipient of the Forty and 40 awards through the Central Penn Business Journal. Her work and love for the community have been featured in Susquehanna Style Magazine and the Central Penn Business Journal Women in Leadership Publication and Color Magazine.
