HARRISBURG'S FUTURE STARTS HERE. JOIN HYP!

Let’s go for a walk after work! Come get some exercise, socialize and enjoy nature.  We will meet at the City Island side of the Walnut St. black pedestrian walking bridge at 6:30 pm.  The walk begins at 6:35 pm SHARP.  We will start by walking across the pedestrian bridge to the Capital Area Greenbelt in Harrisburg and head north along the walking trail to Division St.  Length will be 3 miles out and back style and the terrain is flat and easy.  Sneakers are recommended. Leashed dogs welcome.

You can park on City Island or in downtown Harrisburg- both are free to park.

Come POUND with us! The class will be held upstairs at the Federal Taphouse Harrisburg and then we will head downstairs after the class to enjoy some scrumptious brunch.

This exciting workout transforms drumming into an effective way of working out as it combines cardio, conditioning and strength training. POUND provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up and rockin’ out!

The workout is easily modifiable and the alternative vibe and welcoming philosophy appeal to both men and women of all ages. Open to all fitness levels. Our instructor will be Heather Hartman, Certified POUND Pro and co-owner of Spinning Harts Dance Studio East.

The Ripstix (lightly weighted drumsticks) will be provided to each student for the class. All you need to bring is a yoga mat and water. This workout can be done in sneakers or bare feet.

Space is limited to 25 spots so register quickly because the last POUND class filled up in just 3 days!  The $4 registration fee covers the POUND class only. Order at your discretion off of the regular brunch menu

Let’s start the week with some invigorating yoga followed by a delicious brunch at the Federal Taphouse!  Fellow HYP member Melissa Platt will be teaching us Vinyasa Flow Yoga! We will meet upstairs at the Federal Taphouse for about an hour and 15 minutes of yoga.  Immediately afterward we will go downstairs to eat! The $7 registration fee covers the class only.

This class is great for ALL fitness levels.  The instructor will show beginner postures with advanced modifications to keep everyone engaged and having fun! Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a flowing, dynamic sequence of poses involving synchronizing the breath with a continuous flow of postures.  The fluid, almost dance-like movements increase flexibility, strength, and stamina.  It also calms the mind and improves overall health.

What you need to bring:

  1. A yoga mat
  2. Water

Come enjoy nature and walk around Memorial Lake with us! This is an easy 3 mile leisurely walk. The terrain is mostly flat paved trails with a few dirt paths through wooded areas. Suitable for all fitness levels. Bring some water and soak in the lake and mountain views.

If you plan on carpooling, If carpooling, meet at Koons Park in Linglestown in the big parking lot next to the set of 4 tennis courts (off Raspberry Lane) at 9:30. We will leave the carpool spot at 9:40 sharp. If meeting at the lake, be there at 10:00.

Memorial Lake State Park– 18 Boundary Road Grantville, PA 17028. Be aware there are many parking areas. Park in the parking lot at the end of MIDDLE Road which starts at Boundary Road. It is a large parking lot next to the lake.
