The Jayplayers kick off the 2017 season of HYP’s Italian Lake Concert Series!
This Hershey, PA-based Americana act, centered on the songwriting of Keeley McCue and Chris Weidensaul, has developed from an acoustic duo into a full electric band set up. The recent inclusion of bassist Michael Broda and drummer Tyler Kollinok into the fold, has resulted in the live tracking of their debut album, Glitter & Wine.
Over the past three years, they’ve performed everywhere from local eateries and area listening rooms, to nationally recognized venues such as Rockwood Music Hall and World Café Live.
Influenced by acts such as: The Civil Wars, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash & June Carter, James Taylor, Fleetwood Mac, The Allman Brothers, John Mayer, Chris Stapleton and Alabama Shakes (to name just a few!) the Jayplayers are sure to bring a wonderful sound to the 1st Italian Lake Concert of the year.

Join HYP for the First Friday Happy Hour – Dinomite Summer Concert Series at Sawyer’s Bar and Grill Friday, July 1, 2016 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM. HYP will kick off the 2016 Dinomite Summer Concert Series with a live performance from “Emily’s Toybox.” Sawyers Bar & Grill will feature a selection of cocktails and craft beer. All HYP members and guests are invited to join us to mix and mingle and enjoy a great Harrisburg venue.

ert in the series on Sunday, August 28 at 6:00pm at Italian Lake in Harrisburg brings in Andy Mowatt’s Steely Jam.
Andy Mowatt’s Steely Jam is a funk-driven powerhouse from Pennsylvania, led by guitarist Andy Mowatt, “an absolute musical genius” (Joe Devoy, Tellus 360) and “jazz-rock flamethrower on guitar” (Sam Campbell, Gigspots). A fusion of New Orleans and Central PA, “Andy Mowatt’s Steely Jam” band will “inspire you to expand your mind and think outside the confines of traditional jazz, soul and funk!” (Corey Robert, Positive Music Reviews). “Confident, to-the-point, and elegant” (Gus Rocha, The Flinging Times), Andy and his group entertain and impress crowds with unique originals and modern twists on classic hits, “and yet, through many influences, each tune retains a sound that is distinctly Mowatt’s” (Kim O’Brien, Fly Magazine).
Andy has played guitar, arranged and performed music with “Andy Mowatt’s Steely Jam”, “8-string 4-tet” and Palace Theatre (Manchester, NH), toured with the band “herbie” and the Princess Cruises orchestra, and currently plays in production shows at American Music Theatre (Lancaster, PA). He graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a Bachelors Degree in Music and Recording Technology, as well as concentration studies in jazz, guitar performance, religion and philosophy.
