HYP 2024 Winter Dodgeball

Effective 11/1/23 there will be a $10 increase to all non-member sports prices.

Co-Ed Casual, Intermediate and Elite Divisions

Registration opens on November 3rd and ends on December 1st!
Late Registration is on December 2nd & December 3rd – a $5 late registration fee will be added to your registration.

THE COST TO PLAY:

  • $75.00 per player (Non-Member of HYP)
  • $55.00 per player (Member of HYP)

Receive $5 off if you register on November 3rd or November 4th.

 

DIVISION STRUCTURE
Elite – Should be played by experienced (high school, collegiate) players or very athletic players that are looking for competitive games built around other strong teams. Suggested for teams with 3+ seasons of HYP Dodgeball Experience.

Elimination Playoffs for trophy and a $100 gift card to the season restaurant and bar sponsor. 

Intermediate – Team can consist of a mix of new, and experienced players and is recommended for a team want to compete for a prize (Trophy only)

Single Elimination Playoffs.  All teams make the playoffs.  Highest seed plays the lowest seed.

Casual – The Casual Division provides casual players with a recreational game experience, focusing on camaraderie and enjoyment more than winning or losing.

Teams are STRONGLY urged to participate in the division that most appropriately matches their athleticism and competitiveness. This helps create fair, competitive matchups and contributes to the overall enjoyment of the league. 

GAMEPLAY:

Each team can have an unlimited number of team members but must have a minimum of (12) registered players to be considered a team. Players may not be added to a team after registration closes for any reason. If a player is having difficulty registering online, they must contact sports@hyp.org before registration closes to join a team by 11:59 P.M. on December 2nd to be considered. We are able to accept 30 teams. 

  • Maximum of (8) players on the court. (5 Males and 3 Females).
  • At least (3) Females always need to be on the court.
  • Teams must have a minimum of 12 players on a team (Free-Agents may be added to ANY team).

WHAT’S INCLUDED:

  • 7 regular-season games (Thursdays, January 4th – February 15th)
  • Playoffs for the Elite Division and Intermediate Bowl-Style games for Casual Division teams. (February 22 & February 29) *These dates are tentative and could change depending on snow dates/cancellations
  • 11 (eleven) 6-minute matches per game
  • Game times will be at 6:00 P.M., 6:50 P.M., 7:40 P.M., 8:30 P.M. and 9:20 P.M.
  • Shirts with numbers for your whole team (CLICK HERE to see color options, Style TT11)
  • Division Champion Trophy (Minor and Major Only)
  • 2 referees per court
  • All game played at Zembo Shrine
  • Beer / food specials after the game!
  • Season Kickoff Social with the Captain’s Meeting – JB Lovedraft’s MicroPub, Wednesday, December 27th starting at 6:00 pm.

WAYS TO REGISTER:

  • Free Agent: Don’t have a team? This is perfect for you. Let us find you a team. Meet new friends and start building a team for next season.
  • Team Captain: Sign yourself up, create a team name, and start recruiting your players to sign up.  Captains are responsible for communicating important league information to the other players.
  • Player: Sign up for your friend’s team!

COVID GUIDELINES:

  • Players, officials, and spectators will not be required to wear masks.
    • If a player would like to continue to wear a mask, they’re more than welcome to.
  • Players should adhere to the “No Touch Rule” – meaning no handshakes or high-fives before or after games with the opposing team or officials.
  • If any participant is having COVID-like symptoms or was exposed to someone with COVID in the last 10 days, please stay home.
    • Please refer to the CDC website for clarification on COVID symptoms.
