How Does It Work?

A Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure atmosphere.

There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another’s presentations. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success. Meeting participants also give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings, and develop skills related to timekeeping, grammar, and parliamentary procedure.

Members learn communication skills by working in the Pathways Educational Program, a selection of 6 unique learning experiences, offering a flexible and interactive way to develop your skills and help others in your club develop theirs.  Pathways help you learn communication and leadership skills that you need to succeed. It provides the opportunity to build up to 300 unique competencies, delivered online, accessible anytime from anywhere. 

The educational experience is only a portion of what Toastmasters Clubs offer their members. Members participate in meetings as hosts, evaluators, activity facilitators, and even as contest participants and chairs. HYP Toastmasters specializes in teaching young professionals communication and leadership skills to help them succeed in every situation.

Membership dues are to be paid every 6 months, in April and October, with new members paying a one-time initiation fee. Options to pay for a full year of membership are available.

To become a member, join one of our upcoming meetings and fill out the application onsite. At meetings, we are able to accept cash, and checks, and virtual
payment options. Please note: You do not need to become a member to attend one of our meetings as a guest!
