SUMMARY:Sunset Rocks Hike
DESCRIPTION:Let's go for a hike! This MODERATE hike in Pine Grove Furnace State Park will be about 6 miles long\, loop style. The trail will be moderately rocky at times. It will begin at the Appalachian Trail Museum and progress up the mountain\, gaining about 1\,200 feet in elevation. This scenic trail has some beautiful overlooks of South Mountain and rock scrambling so get ready to have fun! \nMeet in front of the Appalachian Trail Museum at 10am. We will begin the hike at 10:10am. The closest parking is the big parking lot by the Appalachian Trail Museum. You can also park in the General Store parking lot. \nContact Amy Bennetch via amyjbennetch1020@gmail.com with any questions and to RSVP. Your RSVP is strongly recommended so that you can be contacted in the event of any changes or cancelations. If you would like a pin of the exact meeting spot\, are running late or can’t find us text Amy at 717-585-3312. Signing a waiver will be required. \nDue to COVID-19\, there will be no carpooling. Please bring a mask to wear at any point during the walk where social distancing would not be possible. SUMMARY:HYP Book Club: "The Woman in the Window"
DESCRIPTION:The main character in “The Woman in the Window” (by A.J. Finn) suffers from agoraphobia and has recently been separated from her husband and daughter. In addition to keeping in touch with her family\, drinking (maybe too much)\, and playing online chess\, she spends her days observing her neighbors.\n\nWhen she observes a violent altercation between one of the couples\, she moves from observation to involvement. The book has been compared to a Hitchcock-like thriller (Room with a View comes to mind)\, and has been adapted as a movie on Netflix. We’ll be talking about both the book and the film in a classic crossover discussion.\n\nThe meeting is planned for outside\, so please plan appropriately\, including masks\, chairs\, water\, sunblock\, etc. We’ll be wearing masks and spreading out to accommodate social distancing.\n\nIn the event of rain in the forecast\, Joe will e-mail the zoom link to all RSVP’s the day before.
