DESCRIPTION:We are excited to continue the tradition of live music at Italian Lake this summer with a three concert Italian Lake Summer Concert Series! \nOur final concert in the series on Sunday\, August 28 at 6:00pm at Italian Lake in Harrisburg brings in Andy Mowatt’s Steely Jam. \nAndy Mowatt’s Steely Jam is a funk-driven powerhouse from Pennsylvania\, led by guitarist Andy Mowatt\, “an absolute musical genius” (Joe Devoy\, Tellus 360) and “jazz-rock flamethrower on guitar” (Sam Campbell\, Gigspots). A fusion of New Orleans and Central PA\, “Andy Mowatt’s Steely Jam” band will “inspire you to expand your mind and think outside the confines of traditional jazz\, soul and funk!” (Corey Robert\, Positive Music Reviews). “Confident\, to-the-point\, and elegant” (Gus Rocha\, The Flinging Times)\, Andy and his group entertain and impress crowds with unique originals and modern twists on classic hits\, “and yet\, through many influences\, each tune retains a sound that is distinctly Mowatt’s” (Kim O’Brien\, Fly Magazine). \nAndy has played guitar\, arranged and performed music with “Andy Mowatt’s Steely Jam”\, “8-string 4-tet” and Palace Theatre (Manchester\, NH)\, toured with the band “herbie” and the Princess Cruises orchestra\, and currently plays in production shows at American Music Theatre (Lancaster\, PA). Based in Pittsburgh\, PA\, Rachel B is a singer-songwriter thriving with her self-appointed genre of soul empowerment pop\, blending vivacity and uplifting melodies with hints of sass. With multiple tour dates already lined up\, Rachel B will be releasing her debut album “I’m The Boss” on March 1st\, 2016.  Beyond the stage\, Rachel B has had her songs placed on ABC shows such as General Hospital and in various independent films. She was selected as the recipient of the prestigious Johnny Mercer Songwriting Award and Berklee’s Women’s Composer Award. Her magnetic stage presence led the young starlet to perform at venues across the country including Chicago Symphony Hall\, Berklee Performance Center\, South Park Amphitheater\, and Flood City Music Festival. \nHYP is excited to have this singer and songwriter be our first entertainer in the 2016 concert series!
