DESCRIPTION:Please join us for clean-ups at the Heart of the Community Garden! The Garden is owned by Tri-County Community Action and hosts the Allison Hill Farmers Market. Volunteers are needed to help maintain and beautify the Garden prior to the Farmers Market on Wednesdays. Please bring a water bottle and gardening/work gloves (if you have a pair). SUMMARY:City Island Teamed-Up Cleanup with International House
DESCRIPTION:Please join your fellow HYP members and volunteers from International House on the morning of July 14 for our annual Teamed-Up Cleanup on City Island! This will be our 3rd year beautifying the same area. Volunteers will be pulling weeds (of course) and doing other maintenance on the flower beds\, raking the grasses out of the beach volleyball courts\, and adding fresh paint to picnic tables. We might be able to get more donated plants and mulch to keep this area looking good! \nCLICK HERE TO RSVP\nWater\, gloves\, and tools will be provided\, but please bring your own if you have them\, and don’t forget to wear sunscreen and your Forster Street T-shirt!

DESCRIPTION:Represent HYP in the 6th Annual Great Harrisburg Litter Cleanup! \nOn Earth Day\, April 21\, hundreds of your neighbors will hit the streets with bags and gloves to make Harrisburg a cleaner place to live\, work\, and play. Last year\, over 300 volunteers removed over 23 tons of trash\, tires\, and e-waste from our capital city in a single day! With your help\, this community-wide event can be an even greater success. \nWork with volunteers around your neighborhood or join the HYP crew and Friends of Midtown crew as we help beautify the neighborhood for Home Tour! Don’t forget to wear your HYP gear! \nIndividuals register for the Cleanup via http://www.cactricounty.org/great-harrisburg-litter-cleanup/ and provide T-shirt size.  \nWe are asking HYP members to also RSVP via the HYP Facebook event page or at beautification@hyp.org so we have a head count and can help coordinate volunteers in different neighborhoods.

DESCRIPTION:Join the HYP City Beautification Committee and our partner\, International House\, as we clean up City Island on July 16 at 8am.  We will be meeting along Riverside Drive at the back portion of the soccer field near the sand volleyball courts.\nCity Island is a recreational icon of the Susquehanna River where you can catch a baseball or soccer game at FNB Field\, cruise on the Pride of Susquehanna\, enjoy miniature golf\, play sand volleyball and enjoy outdoor fitness areas.\nWe will be focusing on the area around the soccer field and sand volleyball courts by weeding\, picking up trash and painting picnic benches.\nCity Beautiful Productions is offering entrance into FAM FEST at the presale price of $10\, rather than the $15 day-of event price for those who attend the City Island clean up. FAM FEST is the same day of the clean up at The Abbey Bar at Appalachian Brewing Company starting at 7pm. SUMMARY:Annual Forster Street Clean Up
DESCRIPTION:All community members are invited to join the HYP Beautification committee at 9:00am on April 23 for the annual HYP Forster Street Clean Up. 18 years ago\, HYP’s founders decided to take on their first City Beautification initiative by completely redesigning the Forster Street median. At the time\, the median was a large section of concrete painted green\, with no plantings\, trees\, or aesthetics. As one of the city’s main corridors\, Forster Street needed a beautification effort\, and HYP completed the first-ever Forster Street Clean Up. Since that day\, HYP has remained committed to maintaining the median and restoring it each Spring. \nWe will collect litter\, pull weeds\, lay fresh mulch and plant shrubs to get the iconic city street median ready for Spring. Attendees are invited to bring gardening tools to help with the event such as brooms\, shovels\, rakes and leaf blowers. Lunch will be provided by HYP to thank attendees for helping in this effort to make Harrisburg a better place to live\, work and play. \nFree Parking is available at the Associated Pennsylvania Constructors office (800 N 3rd.
