For nearly 17 years\, George held the role of Executive Vice President of Retail Delivery\, Public Relations and Marketing for Members 1st until his promotion to President and CEO in late 2017. George is a founding member of the Harrisburg Hilton Hill Society and has held previous board positions with CrossState Credit Union Foundation\, Harrisburg Regional Chamber\, Better Business Bureau\, HACC Foundation\, D.R.E.A.M. Partnership and Palmyra School District Foundation. Throughout his career\, George has graciously been presented with various awards due to his contributions to the success of the credit union’s economic growth and stability\, the credit union movement as well as the betterment of the Central PA community. Some of his recognitions include the Lehigh Valley’s Business Power 30 Award for Banking & Finance\, CrossState Credit Union Association’s William W. Pratt Lifetime Achievement Award and Midstate Power Player\, Game Changer: Most Admired CEO as well as Executive Management Award – all from the Central Penn Business Journal. George and his wife Kelley have been married for over 35 years and have two adult sons and two beautiful granddaughters. DESCRIPTION:Sunday hike at Boyd Big Tree Nature Preserve\, followed by a cookie swap! \nWe will combine a bunch of trails at Boyd’s to make a nice 3-4 mile loop. There is a small hill at the beginning of our planned hike\, but don’t let this discourage you. We will be taking breaks along the way. The main attraction of this hike is the cookie exchange afterwards! The best part of Boyd’s is the very nice pavilion for us to lay out the spread of cookies\, rain or shine! \nNever participated in a cookie swap before? \nHere’s how it works – Find a cookie recipe…be creative! Dust off those cookbooks\, find family recipes\, or make a batch of your all-time favorites to impress everyone! Bring these cookies with you in a tin or on a plate. Once at the pavilion\, everyone will put their cookies out\, and in a buffet-style\, all participants will walk around and collect cookies to take home. Don’t forget – you’re taking home other’s cookies too!! So bring a container for yourself to collect a variety of goodies!!
