DESCRIPTION:Join the HYP City Beautification Committee and our partner\, International House\, as we clean up City Island on July 16 at 8am.  We will be meeting along Riverside Drive at the back portion of the soccer field near the sand volleyball courts.\nCity Island is a recreational icon of the Susquehanna River where you can catch a baseball or soccer game at FNB Field\, cruise on the Pride of Susquehanna\, enjoy miniature golf\, play sand volleyball and enjoy outdoor fitness areas.\nWe will be focusing on the area around the soccer field and sand volleyball courts by weeding\, picking up trash and painting picnic benches.\nCity Beautiful Productions is offering entrance into FAM FEST at the presale price of $10\, rather than the $15 day-of event price for those who attend the City Island clean up. SUMMARY:HYP Hike on the Appalachian Trail
DESCRIPTION:Come out & join us for another HYP Hike! For this hike\, we will be hiking another section of the Appalachian Trail. We will be going from the Boiling Springs Tavern\, north on the Appalachian Trail & heading to Lisburn Road where we will then circle back and end back at the Tavern. This hike will be around 6 miles long and will take about 3 hours. The scale of difficulty for this hike is about a 2 out of 5\, 5 being the toughest/most difficult. This hike is beginner friendly & people are encouraged to bring water & snacks. \nAs usual\, we will be meeting ahead of time in the City Island parking lot (lot closest to the parking garage) at 10:00am to carpool over. We will leave promptly at 10:00am to arrive at the Boiling Springs Tavern at 10:30am to start the hike. DESCRIPTION:We are excited to continue the tradition of live music at Italian Lake this summer with a three concert Italian Lake Summer Concert Series! \nOur final concert in the series on Sunday\, August 28 at 6:00pm at Italian Lake in Harrisburg brings in Andy Mowatt’s Steely Jam. \nAndy Mowatt’s Steely Jam is a funk-driven powerhouse from Pennsylvania\, led by guitarist Andy Mowatt\, “an absolute musical genius” (Joe Devoy\, Tellus 360) and “jazz-rock flamethrower on guitar” (Sam Campbell\, Gigspots). Please join us from 11:30AM to 1:00PM. \nSeptember 16th is also National Park(ing) Day\, an annual open-source global event where citizens\, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public places. Geoffrey Knight from the City of Harrisburg will be hosting a temporary Park called a “parklet” at the corner of 2nd and Locust Street – Be sure to check it out\, and maybe even eat your lunch there.
