SUMMARY:After-Work Walk - Italian Lake/Capital Area Greenbelt
DESCRIPTION:Let’s go for an after-work walk along the beautiful Italian Lake and the Capital Area Greenbelt! This is a great opportunity to socialize and unwind. Meet at the north entrance of Italian Lake on Edward St. at 6pm. (Where Susquehanna St. meets Edward St.) The walk will begin at 6:10pm. Our walk will be about 4 miles total. SUMMARY:PA Food Bank Challenge
DESCRIPTION:*The registration fee for this event is $10*\n*This event is limited to HYP members only*\n\nOur PA Food Bank Challenge test in May was such a success we decided to continue our partnership with the PA Food Bank!\n\nNot only will we be helping assemble their care packages that get sent out to those in need in our community\, but the registration fees will all be donated to the PA Food Bank. HYP will hold a team of 20 members\, and we are working on getting another team created by another organization to go against.\n\nBoth teams will have an hour to pack as many of the PA Food Bank care packages as they can.\nWe will be having another challenge in November so if we fill up spots when you sign up we will be sure to give you first dibs for the November date.\n\nAfter the November challenge we will see who from the August challenge and November challenge packed the most boxes. The winning team will get to take home the PA Food Bank Bowl trophy until next year along with each team member will get a prize too.\n\nJust click on this link to register:\nhttps://docs.google.com/…/1FAIpQLSfco9sbUYPHjd…/viewform\n\nThe Outreach Committee will split everyone into teams. You will get an email a week before the event with team details. The deadline to register is Monday\, August 9th at 5 p.m.\n\nLet’s get together\, have some fun\, and help the PA Food Bank assemble these care packages!

SUMMARY:HYP Book Club - "White Teeth"
DESCRIPTION:August’s book is White Teeth\, by the acclaimed author Zadie Smith. It’s about the unlikely friendship (in later lives) of two hapless World War II vets – Samad Iqbal (from Bangladesh) and Archie Jones (from England). Through a look-in on their lives and the lives of their families\, we get to see Great Britain in the midst of a consequential transformation. It’s also a look at London’s racial and cultural tapestry\, venturing through the past and readying for its future\, considering Britain’s former empire and its relationship with immigrants from the British Commonwealth. \nThe meeting is planned for outside\, so please plan appropriately\, including chairs\, water\, sunblock\, etc. In the event of rain in the forecast\, Joe will e-mail the zoom link to all RSVP’s the day before. Please RSVP and/or send questions to Joe Foner at joefoner1@gmail.com.
