DESCRIPTION:REFRESH Harrisburg is the culminating event in which 4 teams of teen summer campers from The Salvation Army sell items at refreshment stands located around downtown Harrisburg to demonstrate their knowledge of entrepreneurship and charity. For four weeks prior to the event\, the campers learned about starting their own business\, budgeting\, marketing\, and creating their own business plans to put their refreshment stands in motion. Come visit each of the refreshment stands the day of the event to see their businesses in action and see their individual marketing strategies come to life. DESCRIPTION:Join Harrisburg Young Professionals on Friday\, August 2nd to hoist the flag and raise the sails for our First Friday Social on the Pride of the Susquehanna. The cruise runs from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm with the ship leaving the dock shortly after 7:00 pm\, so make sure you arrive on time or walk the plank! Enjoy a pirate’s favorite cocktail and some golden treasure with your shipmates while watching the sunset on the Susquehanna River. Tickets are available for only $15 and seating is limited\, so be sure to purchase your tickets soon! \nNo tickets will be sold the day of the event and you must show your ticket upon entrance of the boat. The class will focus on the medium of acrylic paint and will include all equipment. DESCRIPTION:REGISTER FOR THE EVENT\nThe CEO Roundtable Series is a special program series which features leaders from the Harrisburg region who speak about their professional journey\, lessons learned\, struggles and successes\, and provide insight to young professionals hoping to make their own career path a success. This CEO Roundtable will feature Alice Anne Schwab – Executive Director of the Susquehanna Art Museum at The Marty and Tom Philips Family Art Center. \nAlice Anne Schwab\, a Harrisburg native and graduate of Bucknell University\, has worked in a variety of industries and currently serves as the Executive Director of the Susquehanna Art Museum and Tom Philips Family Art Center. She previously owned and operated Alice Anne’s Kitchen in Harrisburg\, and served as Director of Education for the Harrisburg Symphony and Administrator for the Orchestra’s Youth Symphony. While living in New York City\, she managed John Szoke Graphics\, an art gallery and print publisher\, and served as an assistant to Ian Schrager\, a noted hotel developer\, working on special events\, including Andy Warhol’s memorial service\, the publication party for Donald Trump’s The Art of the Deal\, and Vanity Fair Magazine’s fifth anniversary celebration. In addition to her role at the museum\, Alice currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Market Square Presbyterian Church\, the Board of the Children’s Home Foundation\, and was recently named to Penn State Harrisburg’s Board of Advisors\, representing the Department of Humanities.
