DESCRIPTION:SIGN UP\nThe Emerging Philanthropist Program (EPP) will be hosting the 3rd Annual Harrisburg Hoopla on Saturday\, June 1\, 2019. Through an adult track and field day style competition\, our goal is to raise unrestricted funds for local nonprofit organizations and unite our community in support. \nHarrisburg Hoopla is a fundraising event where teams compete in 10-12 field day style activities. Each team competes for a local nonprofit organization of their choice in hopes to win a portion of event proceeds for that nonprofit. \nNote: Teams are not responsible for doing individual fundraising for this event. \nRegister your team for the best sports event of the year! \nKeep up-to-date on our Facebook page. \nRecap of the 2018 Harrisburg Hoopla:\nLast year’s event was an electrifying success\, with over 180 participants on 24 teams. The teams competed in events such as tug-of-war\, relay races\, volleyball\, and an inflatable obstacle course to raise an impressive $18\,174.12 for local nonprofits! \n\nFirst place team won $5\,452.24 for the Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region\nSecond place team won $3\,634.85 for Samara – The Center for Individual and Family Growth\nThird place team won $1\,817.41 for Medard’s House\nThe remaining $7\,269.65 of event proceeds went to the EPP endowment fund to be used for grant awards to a local nonprofit as determined by the EPP classes.\n\n2019 Event Information\n\n\n\nDate:\nJune 1\, 2019\n\n\nTeam Registration:\n10:00 am – 10:45 am\n\n\nGames Begin:\n\n11:00 am\n\n\nLocation:\nSkyline Sports Complex\, City Island\, Harrisburg\, PA\n\n\nEvent Registration:\n$45.00 per participant \nThe Registration fee will increase to $50 the morning of 5/23/19 \n \n\n\nCheerleader for Event Only:\nFree! SUMMARY:Appalachian Trail/White Rocks HIKE
DESCRIPTION:Let’s go for a hike!  This MODERATE hike will be about 6.5 miles long\, out and back style.  It will begin on the Appalachian Trail\, initially passing through several flat farm fields and then up into the woods with about 650 feet of elevation gain.  We will then turn onto the White Rocks trail which involves going through interesting large rock formations and optional rock scrambling on top of the ridge. \nCarpoolers: Meet at City Island in front of the parking garage at 9:30 am.  We will leave at 9:45 sharp. If not carpooling- Hike location: Meet in front of the Boiling Springs Iron Furnace located at 109 Bucher Hill Rd. Boiling Springs\, PA 17007 at 10:15.  You can park in the long parking lot at the southeast end of Children’s Lake. SUMMARY:Waterfront Walk After Work- Capital Area Greenbelt
DESCRIPTION:Let’s go for a walk after work! Come get some exercise\, socialize and enjoy nature.  We will meet at the City Island side of the Walnut St. black pedestrian walking bridge at 6:30 pm.  The walk begins at 6:35 pm SHARP.  We will start by walking across the pedestrian bridge to the Capital Area Greenbelt in Harrisburg and head north along the walking trail to Division St.  Length will be 3 miles out and back style and the terrain is flat and easy.  Sneakers are recommended.
