Front Street\, on Sunday afternoon\, April 3\, 2016\, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Two films produced by WITF\, Inc.\, Mira Lloyd: A Beautiful Crusade and Gifford Pinchot’s Conservation Legacy will be presented\, followed by a discussion on practical ways these lessons can help play a part in a sustainable future for Harrisburg and the Capital Region. SUMMARY:HYP Hike to Ned Smith Center & Trails
DESCRIPTION:Come out & join us for the first hike of the year! We will be going to the Ned Smith Center & Trails in Millersburg. This hike will take about 3-3 ½ hours and the scale of difficulty is about a 4 out of 5\, 5 being the toughest/most difficult. We will be taking the Drumming Log Trail up through Deer Run Trail & Lenker Trail to Berry’s Mountain Trail & back down. There is a nice look out at the top & everyone is encouraged to bring snacks & water. \nEveryone will be meeting in the City Island parking lot (lot closest to the parking garage) at 10:15am to arrive at the trails by 11am. Parking is not limited for this event so feel free to meet us at the center. DESCRIPTION:Downtown Harrisburg is the place to be for lunch every 3rd Thursday with the Harrisburg Young Professional’s Downtown Lunch Bunch.  Each month we will select a downtown lunch location to gather at to eat and socialize.  Lunch kicks off at 11:30 Am and locations will vary month to month. \nThe next one will be Thursday\, April 21st\, at Cafe Fresco.  Everyone should be there around 11:30 Am before the lunch rush at 12 Pm and plan on a longer lunch.  Patrons are encouraged to bring cash to pay for their tabs. \nParking is available at the River Street Garage (218 North 2nd Street) from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm for a flat rate of $3.00 and is never full.

SUMMARY:Annual Forster Street Clean Up
DESCRIPTION:All community members are invited to join the HYP Beautification committee at 9:00am on April 23 for the annual HYP Forster Street Clean Up. 18 years ago\, HYP’s founders decided to take on their first City Beautification initiative by completely redesigning the Forster Street median. At the time\, the median was a large section of concrete painted green\, with no plantings\, trees\, or aesthetics. As one of the city’s main corridors\, Forster Street needed a beautification effort\, and HYP completed the first-ever Forster Street Clean Up. Since that day\, HYP has remained committed to maintaining the median and restoring it each Spring. \nWe will collect litter\, pull weeds\, lay fresh mulch and plant shrubs to get the iconic city street median ready for Spring. Attendees are invited to bring gardening tools to help with the event such as brooms\, shovels\, rakes and leaf blowers. Lunch will be provided by HYP to thank attendees for helping in this effort to make Harrisburg a better place to live\, work and play. \nFree Parking is available at the Associated Pennsylvania Constructors office (800 N 3rd.
