SUMMARY:DEI and Racial Justice Training Part 2: Intersectionality
DESCRIPTION:What is intersectionality and how does it relate to oppression\, anti-oppression\, and anti-racism work? \nJoin the Harrisburg Young Professionals (TAG) and the Junior League of Harrisburg (TAG) as we partner together for our second DEI and Racial Justice Training event focused on intersectionality. Our presenter\, Kristen Herman (she/her/hers)\, Director of Prevention at the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV) (TAG) will look at intersectionality in the context of our world today and from a historical understanding; and discuss how intersectionality impacts ourselves\, our identities\, and our work as professionals. \nAt PCADV\, Kristen and her Prevention Team are responsible for all things intimate partner violence (IPV) prevention\, including training nearly 60 local programs and championing state-level prevention efforts. Kristen is also responsible for leading a statewide leadership team of Pennsylvania stakeholders to draft and implement a 5-year plan toward the prevention of IPV. Prior to her work with the Coalition\, Kristen was the Project Coordinator of a local IPV prevention program in Delaware\, where she focused on the prevention of teen dating violence\, working with both middle and high school-aged youth. With more than eight years in the field\, Kristen considers herself a “born and bred” preventionist\, and believes true prevention is about developing equitable\, safe\, and healthy communities. Kristen holds her Master’s in Public Health from George Washington University and a BS in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Delaware. \nRegistration is required for this event. \n*Please note: this training may be recorded and potentially distributed on HYP’s social media sites and/or weekly newsletter* \n  \nTopic: DEI and Racial Justice Training Part 2: Intersectionality\nTime: Oct 1\, 2020 06:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada) \nJoin Zoom Meeting\nhttps://zoom.us/j/92798341600?pwd=OXNYL3g5amUyT0REVGpuTjZvR0xJUT09 \nMeeting ID: 927 9834 1600\nPasscode: 100120 \nOne tap mobile\n+19292056099\,\,92798341600#\,\,\,\,\,\,0#\,\,100120# US (New York)\n+13017158592\,\,92798341600#\,\,\,\,\,\,0#\,\,100120# US (Germantown) \nDial by your location\n+1 929 205 6099 US (New York)\n+1 301 715 8592 US (Germantown)\n+1 312 626 6799 US (Chicago)\n+1 669 900 6833 US (San Jose)\n+1 253 215 8782 US (Tacoma)\n+1 346 248 7799 US (Houston)\nMeeting ID: 927 9834 1600\nPasscode: 100120\nFind your local number: https://zoom.us/u/aLmgnCoA4
