SUMMARY:Italian Lake Concert Series with Andy Mowatt's Steely Jam
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to continue the tradition of live music at Italian Lake this summer with a three concert Italian Lake Summer Concert Series! \nOur final concert in the series on Sunday\, August 28 at 6:00pm at Italian Lake in Harrisburg brings in Andy Mowatt’s Steely Jam. \nAndy Mowatt’s Steely Jam is a funk-driven powerhouse from Pennsylvania\, led by guitarist Andy Mowatt\, “an absolute musical genius” (Joe Devoy\, Tellus 360) and “jazz-rock flamethrower on guitar” (Sam Campbell\, Gigspots). A fusion of New Orleans and Central PA\, “Andy Mowatt’s Steely Jam” band will “inspire you to expand your mind and think outside the confines of traditional jazz\, soul and funk!” (Corey Robert\, Positive Music Reviews). “Confident\, to-the-point\, and elegant” (Gus Rocha\, The Flinging Times)\, Andy and his group entertain and impress crowds with unique originals and modern twists on classic hits\, “and yet\, through many influences\, each tune retains a sound that is distinctly Mowatt’s” (Kim O’Brien\, Fly Magazine). \nAndy has played guitar\, arranged and performed music with “Andy Mowatt’s Steely Jam”\, “8-string 4-tet” and Palace Theatre (Manchester\, NH)\, toured with the band “herbie” and the Princess Cruises orchestra\, and currently plays in production shows at American Music Theatre (Lancaster\, PA). He graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a Bachelors Degree in Music and Recording Technology\, as well as concentration studies in jazz\, guitar performance\, religion and philosophy. \nHYP is excited to have Andy Mowatt’s Steely Jam close out our Italian Lake Concert Series! This is a family friendly concert\, and we encourage guests to bring blankets and lawn chairs and picnic food to enjoy at Italian Lake while enjoying the concert. \nThank you to our Italian Lake Concert Series Platinum Sponsor\, M&T Bank!\n \n  \nAnd our Gold Sponsor\, the Dixon University Center & TheBURG!\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n  \n  \nContact arts@hyp.org with questions.
