For our November book club, our next read will cross through Halloween, so in the spirit, we’re reading Lovecraft Country by Matt Ruff. It’s about an African-American man living in 1950s Jim Crow-era America, looking for his missing father. And also trying to escape otherworldly creatures. It’s a sci-fi/horror crossover, and promises to be a really provocative genre mashup. And it’s also a series on HBO, so for those who have seen, we can discuss the tv series as well.
