Oscar season is starting to ramp up, so you know what that means – time for some high-quality film at the Midtown Cinema! HYP Movie Night is back, with a movie that’s sure to be in the Oscar conversation, “Loving.” It’s based on the real-life story of Richard and Mildred Loving, an interracial couple living in Virginia who are sentenced to prison for getting married in 1958. Their case eventually made it to the Supreme Court and resulted in a landmark civil rights decision prohibiting interracial marriage. We’ll be meeting in the lobby about 7, as movies are typically around 7:30 – be sure to look for screen times on the midtown cinema website: www.midtowncinema.com. If the movie ends up being scheduled at a much different time, look for updates on the Facebook event page. To RSVP or for questions, please contact Joe Foner at joefoner1@gmail.com
