Movie night is back! And just in time for the rush of excellent independent films in the fall, we’re seeing “Lady Bird,” which stars Saoirse Ronan (“Atonement,” “Brooklyn”) as a teenager living in Northern California for a year.
The film also stars Laurie Metcalf (“Roseanne”) as her ‘difficult’ mother, and is loosely autobiographical for first-time director (but long-time indie star/writer) Greta Gerwig (“Greenberg,” “Frances Ha,” “Mistress America”). It’s sure to be in the awards discussion come February! We’ll be meeting in the lobby about 7, as movies typically start between 7 and 8 – be sure to look for screen times on the midtown cinema website: www.midtowncinema.com. If the movie ends up being scheduled at a much different time, look for updates on the Facebook event page.
