What does it look like when an immortal being has a midlife crisis and how do you change when you’ve
existed as long as time itself? These are the questions at the center of writer Neil Gaiman’s masterpiece,
“The Sandman”. We follow Dream, one of the seven Endless and the personification of stories, through a
tail that seamlessly weaves together contemporary fiction, historical drama, and ancient legends. All
rendered by some of the most unique and talented artists working in the medium of comics.

Just in time for the release of its Netflix adaptation, the HYP Book Club will be discussing volumes 1, 2
and 3, or issues 1-20 of the Eisner, Hugo, and World Fantasy Award winning comic book series.

This meeting will also serve as a halfway point check in for our challenge read of “Anna Karenina”.
