Get ready for another book and movie discussion from HYP Book Club! This month, we’re reading, watching, and discussing, the classic dystopian story from George Orwell, “1984.” It’s the well-known tale of a repressive, totalitarian government that controls every facet of human life, and a lowly worker who tries to rebel against it and realize his individuality. We’ll be meeting at the Midtown Cinema at 7 (movie is at 7:30), to allow time for a brief discussion before the film. Then we’ll watch the film and discuss the book and film after. Tickets are available at the Midtown Cinema.
SPECIAL PROGRAMMING NOTE: The Midtown Scholar is offering a 20% discount on the book “1984” until the meeting. Please contact Joe Foner at joefoner1@gmail.com to RSVP or for questions. See you there, and happy reading!
