Connecting interns with experienced young professionals to discover Harrisburg and further professional development.

The 2018 Program will run from June 1st to August 31. Applications for Mentors & Interns will be released in April.  

 

The Economic Development Committee is looking for HYP members interested in becoming a mentor in this year’s Internship Connection Program. HYP members will be paired with a college student who has a summer internship within the city. This mentorship program focuses on experiencing all that Harrisburg has to offer a young professional. EcDev will organize several events throughout the summer to support the connection. Participation is required at least twice a month. For more information email development@hyp.org

How it works

  • Each intern is paired with an experienced HYP member
  • The relationship focuses on discovering Harrisburg and professional growth
  • The pairs connect at least twice a month
  • Several events are hosted for participants throughout the program

Responsibilities of HYP Mentor

  • Semester/summer-long program commitment
  • Participate in program events and surveys
  • Maintain a trustworthy, reliable and professional relationship

Mentors must be

  • An active HYP member
  • Member of at least one HYP committee
  • Currently employed with a Harrisburg-area organization
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to HYP and a love of Harrisburg
