HARRISBURG, Pa. (2/27/22) – On February 23, 2022, Harrisburg Young Professionals (HYP) hosted its annual meeting at the National Civil War Museum to share the organization’s successes from 2021 and to kickoff their 2022 plans. Keynote speaker City Council President Danielle L. Bowers spoke to attendees about the importance of overcoming challenges, breaking barriers and creating impactful history in the process in the city of Harrisburg.

“We are here to proclaim ‘We Got Next’… to suit up and prepare for the game of life,” Bowers said.

HYP also had new Executive Director, Meghan Bachmore make her debut appearance and stated, “Now more than ever before, people need to feel connected. HYP provides opportunities to do that in fun and meaningful ways.”

A significant portion of the Annual Meeting recognized partners and community leaders who impacted the development and improvement of the city of Harrisburg.

Harrisburg Young Professionals also shared their vision for 2022, the organization’s 24th year. 

HYP President Jade Honey acknowledged the challenges presented by COVID-19 and the need to come together as a community.

“COVID challenged every facet of HYP, but we’re back. And being here tonight with over 100 attendees in-person, demonstrates our need and desire to be back together.”

The organization also announced it’s Run for the Roses event hosted by HYP and the Hill Society being held May 7, 2022 at the Hilton Harrisburg. This inaugural event will benefit HYP’s Home in the City Program. More information and tickets can be found at hyp.org/r4tr.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (2/17/23) – On February 15, 2023, Harrisburg Young Professionals (HYP) hosted its annual meeting at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex to share the organization’s successes from 2022 and to kickoff their 2023 plans. Keynote speaker, Color and Culture CEO George Fernandez spoke to attendees about the importance of overcoming challenges, breaking barriers and creating impactful history in the process in the city of Harrisburg.

“Alone, we are each powerful and capable human beings. But together, we are unstoppable. Let’s embrace the unstoppable mindset to blend our talents and resources so that HYP can be a celebration of color, culture, and the life-changing impact we make when we come together!” Fernandez said.

Organization Welcomes Meghan Bachmore

HARRISBURG, Pa. (January 24, 2022) – Harrisburg Young Professionals (HYP) is pleased to announce Meghan Bachmore as their new Executive Director. 

Meghan brings experience from her time as Membership Services Director at the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and Capital Region Economic Development Corporation, managing their membership strategy and direction. A graduate from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Meghan uses her background in sales to connect with others in the Harrisburg region. Last year Meghan was selected as an HYP honoree for 20 in Their 20’s, which recognizes 20 of Harrisburg’s outstanding young people making a meaningful impact in their community and their workplace. She was also awarded Someone to Tell It To’s Care To Listen Impact Award for her exemplary dedication to compassionate listening and servant leadership. 

“We are thrilled to welcome Meghan to our organization” says Jade Honey, HYP President. “Meghan values deep, authentic relationships with others and wants to make a difference in her community. She has the qualities and leadership we need to write the next chapter for our organization. We are excited to welcome her to HYP!” 

On February 23, 2022, HYP will host it’s 24th Annual Meeting and Awards Night at The National Civil War Museum, providing an opportunity for the community, HYP membership, leadership and board to meet Meghan in-person and welcome her to the organization.

Young Professionals Continue Commitment to Improving the City of Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa. (January 10, 2022) – Harrisburg Young Professionals (HYP), a nonprofit young professional organization, announced today the election of Jade K. Honey as the president of the 2022 Board of Directors. Jade is currently the Director of Corporate Engagement at Penn State University and Penn State Health. She has been a member of HYP for six years and lives in Harrisburg with her husband. 

“I am very excited about Jade’s continued role with our organization,” said Sydney Kyler, immediate past-president of HYP, “she has been instrumental in many of our legacy initiatives, and will keep busy as she begins to onboard a new Executive Director this year. As we come upon our 24th anniversary for HYP, she will be an extraordinary leader to help us make this one of our best years yet.”

YOUNG PROFESSIONALS ORGANIZATION OPENS 20 IN THEIR 20s NOMINATIONS

HARRISBURG, Pa. (June 2021) – Harrisburg Young Professionals (HYP) is excited to open to the public the nominations for the third annual 20 In Their 20s class. 

Nominations are open from June 1, 2021 to July 9, 2021.

Any member of the public can submit a nomination, but nominees must meet the following requirements:

HYP will host its 20 in their 20s awards ceremony on November 10, 2021, at the Hilton Harrisburg to celebrate the 20 nominated rising stars who are making a significant impact in their communities and workplaces.
