The HYP Origin Story

In the spring of 1998, five friends saw Harrisburg's potential when others didn't. They founded HYP with a simple premise: young talent doesn't have to leave for opportunity. We can create it here.

What started as monthly happy hours has grown into Central Pennsylvania's largest young professional organization. We've participated in urban revitalization, professional development, and community engagement. Today, our members hold leadership positions across every sector of the regional economy.

The year marks HYP's 27th Anniversary!
