Why should I become a member?

1. Network with the HYPest people in town - make new friends and business contacts and meet a diverse group of people
2. Be in the know - HYP's Bits and Bytes and HYP's website will keep you up-to-date on the latest area happenings
3. Help support an organization committed to making Harrisburg a better place to Live, Work, Play, And Shop
4. Help beautify the city through a variety of community projects
5. Get discounts at city retailers, restaurants and other businesses, and attend members only events with your HYP Passport
6. Serve an an Ambassador for highlighting Harrisburg's appeal to young people.

Becoming a member of HYP is easy. Who is a young professional? If you are someone who wants to help us make Harrisburg a more vibrant and enjoyable place to live while having fun doing it and meeting new friends, we want you aboard.

Step One: Register with us!
By registering with HYP, you are enabling us to stay in touch with you so that we can keep you informed of all the exciting things happening with HYP and in Harrisburg. You can either register here on-line with Master Card, Visa, OR Discover, or you can pay by check by Filling out this Registration Form and sending it to our mailing address at HYP, PO Box 11851, Harrisburg, PA 17108-1851.

By paying your dues you are helping to support HYP's ongoing activities including our outreach events, city beautification projects, economic development initiatives, member communications, social occasions, and charitable functions. In addition you will receive the HYP Passport which offers you discounts at various Harrisburg businesses and access to HYP events. Annual dues are $30 for 12 months, begining the month you register. Where else can you have this much fun for thirty bucks while making a contribution to the growth of your community?

Please note that membership dues are nonrefundable.

Step Two: Attend Events!
There are a variety of ways for you to become involved with HYP but you must take the lead! First, start with our New Member/New Resident Socials (held 6-9 times per year) or other HYP events, such as our regular Second Wednesday Socials, because they give you the opportunity to mingle with people who have similar interests. They also give us the opportunity to get to know you. The Second Wednesday Socials, New Member/New Resident Socials and selected other events are open to everyone. Many HYP events are open to memberes only.

Step Three: Get Involved!
Most of the work, and fun, in HYP happens in our committees. We welcome your input and fresh ideas so we hope you'll find one or two that interest you, contact the committee chairperson, and start making your unique contribution to HYP. Finally, you can show your support of HYP and our goals by attending various community events and volunteering for the various projects that HYP believes make Harrisburg a fun place to Live, Work, Play, and Shop!
