Thomas Hylton, author of Save Our Land, Save Our Towns, a plea for comprehensive planning to save our cities, towns, and countryside will discuss his findings on what makes cities like Harrisburg thrive!

It's the holiday season at HYP Book Club, and that means a book about family. The December book: The new classic, "The Poisonwood Bible," by Barbara Kingsolver. It's about a family of missionaries from Georgia, traveling to Africa, and told from the unique point of view of five different women from this same family. We meet in the upstairs lounge of the Midtown Scholar at 2:00 PM, reservations encouraged, but not required (we like to know who's coming so we know when to get started). This month's holiday dinner will be held at the The Fire House (606 North 2nd Street, Harrisburg) on Wednesday December 17th at 6:30pm. The menu features starters like FireBread and Rhode Island Calamari as well as great main courses like Prime Rib, Garlic Studded Filet Mignon, Stoned Chicken, Seabass and award winning Crab Cakes.
